A Girl Made of Darkness/The Joy of Cigarettes

These sections, I thought, to have revealed much more personality in each of the two current main characters. I felt that the bonding of Liesel and Hans will be very important later on. Liesel's next books are also important, as it not only helps her reading and writing, but also help her learn.

  1. I think your post is really interesting, Tim! Your post echoed my thoughts. The chapter was full, like you stated, of character development. I thought it was intriguing at first that you referred to Hans Hubermann as a main character, but I thought about it and realized that you are right and Hans is a very major character. You caused me to see him in a new light, which I never would have done before. I also enjoyed your mentioning of Liesel's education and how it is progressing well. I didn't think about the learning aspect of her two new books, but I think it is an important part of the importance of her new books, rather than just for enjoyment like I first thought. Good job on your post!
